Maplapse is an app for iPhone and iPad that automatically draws a map of your own travels from the location and time stored in existing photos, retroactively and even for trips taken years ago. Long description
Maplapse is an app for iPhone and iPad that automatically draws a map of your own travels from the photos in your library. It reads where and when each photo was taken, groups the photos into trips with individual stops and joins those stops into a journey. This happens retroactively: trips from years ago appear on the map too, with nothing to set up beforehand and nothing to record on the way. Each stop opens its photos, and users can write notes, hide photos and search their trips by place, country or year. The analysis runs on the device. There is no Maplapse server for travel data, no advertising and no tracking; Maplapse itself sends data only to the user's own iCloud, when they choose to sync or share a trip. A single photo can be passed on to another app if the user wishes. Maplapse is free to use. That includes playing three trips as a slideshow and creating three links, each of which shares one trip. The Maplapse Pro subscription lifts those limits and adds iCloud sync, sharing the whole map, advanced search and placing photos that have no location. Maplapse is developed by Matthias Baumann Softwareentwicklung in Germany.
