On the road in a campervan or tent: your tour as a map
Maplapse retraces a tour by campervan, motorhome or tent from your photos after you get back: every stop appears on the map, joined in the order you visited. There is nothing to record on the way and nothing to sort afterwards.
Every pitch a stop of its own
Maplapse can show every overnight stay as its own stop, even when two pitches are only a few kilometres apart. Turn on “Overnight stops” under Settings › “Travel behaviour”, and Maplapse reads the nights from the times of your photos. Even with the switch off, coming back to a place after a night somewhere else always makes a new stop, while a day trip that returns the same day stays part of the same stop.
Lots of short legs, a calm map
How densely the stops of a campervan tour sit on the map is set in Maplapse by the radius at the top. It decides how far apart two photos must be to count as two places, 50 km by default. A larger value merges short legs and keeps the map tidy, and the detail zoom at each stop still shows you the individual spots of a place, such as the beach, the harbour and the old town.
Notes for every pitch
In Maplapse you can write a note for every stop, for instance what the pitch was like or what you would do differently next time. Each note belongs to exactly that stop on that trip, so two visits to the same place keep two separate notes. Photos that don't belong to the trip, such as a snapshot of a parking ticket, can be hidden without deleting anything.
Travelling as a pair
If you both take photos, Maplapse Pro brings them together into one shared trip when you use Apple's Shared Photo Library and you share your map. That sharing always covers all your trips, individual trips cannot be selected, and only people who use Maplapse Pro themselves can join. To show just one tour, send it as a link; three links are free without Pro, and the free app is enough to view it.
